How to use ELM327
This article is about How to use ELM327 bluetooth diagnostic (OBD) module with QuickSmartDrive car launcher android application.
ELM327 is a car diagnostic chip and it is available with different communication ways, such as wire, WiFi and Bluetooth which is more popular and also is compatible with QuickSmartDrive car launcher app.
How to use ELM327
First of all, you need to download and install the following android application:

To connecting ELM327 Bluetooth diagnostic module to the app, first put your car in the “ON” state (where the meterset/cluster turns on) but do not start the engine. After a few seconds when the ECU has been initialized, plug the ELM327 module to its socket (usually it’s placed in the cabin fuse box).
Then turn on your device/smart phone Bluetooth and pair its Bluetooth connection with the ELM327 module.
Then go to the app, in the SETTINGS section, toggle on the ELM327 switch.
After a few seconds, it will automatically connect to the module and a blue Bluetooth icon will appear in the app’s top bar. Otherwise, a menu will appear to select the paired ELM327 module.
After the successful connection, you can see all of the car details in the main menu (in case of support by the ECU) after about one minute (You can only see the speed and intake air temperature if you are not using the PRO license).
Also you can see and clear the DTCs in the OBD sub-menu of car info menu. This app doesn’t change ELM327 configuration, so if you already have configured ELM327 according to your ECU specification with another app, the configuration won’t change by this app.
OBD
In the OBD sub-menu, it will show the received OBD data from the ECU.
The errors which start with P, is about the power-train, the errors which start with U, is about the electrical side of the car (network), the errors which starts with B, is about the car’s body and the errors which start with C, are about the car chassis.
P0000 means there’s no error.
You can clear the errors with the CLEAR button after you fixed the car. It’s recommended that first put the car in the ON state (do not start), then plug the ELM327 Bluetooth Diagnostic module after a few seconds and then start the engine.
